Why are Endowment Funds so Important ...

Burlington's Endowment Fund is critical to the continued operation of our organization and our ability to provide services to children and families!

Major changes in the government's position related to the provision of services to children and families, and corresponding reductions in the related funding for those programs will have an adverse effect on our ability to continue to meet the needs of those we serve.

Funding for repairs and upkeep of our facilities, our campus spiritual life activities, new initiatives to expand or improve programs, and indirect management costs that are central to all of our services must be derived through charitable gifts and the distribution of income from our endowment funds.

Our goal for the future of our endowment: That it would grow to provide enough annual income so that Burlington United Methodist Family Services would not be vulnerable to the changing political or economic environment that so influences our government funding sources.

Never in the history of our agency has the financial support of churches and individuals been more important. That faithful, prayerful backing together with a large and growing endowment would allow us to realize our corporate vision while achieving our Christian mission.
