urlington United Methodist Family Services, Inc. provides supportive services to  adoptive families by way of parent-led groups in Charleston, Huntington and Parkersburg and other areas of the state.  Activities include recreational events as well as educational seminars and a group in the Charleston area for waiting parents.

The Adoption Program provides opportunities for families to pursue adoption in three areas:   Newborn Program, International Program, and Special Needs.  Information packets, that include cost and eligibility requirements, can be obtained by contacting our office. Our office provides an array of activities for adoptive families who are in various phases of the adoption process.  Home studies and post-placement services are provided for all types of adoption by qualified social workers and counselors.  Post-adoption counseling for adoption and child-related issues is available to individuals and families.  Families have opportunities to participate on a regular basis in various educational and recreational activities planned by staff and adoptive parents.  Also, call for schedule of activities.
