Burlington United Methodist Family Services, Inc.'s Adoption Program provides supportive services to individuals experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, both prospective adoptive parents and adoptive parents as well as the adoptee.  

Support services provided to individuals experiencing unplanned pregnancies (birth parents) are made available by licensed social workers and/or counselors and they are completely confidential. The specific services provided are based upon what is best for your child and you dependent upon the circumstances of your life at that time. The Adoption Program provides opportunities for prospective adoptive families to pursue adoption in three areas: Domestic Newborn, International and Special Needs. Our office provides an array of activities and support services for adoptive families who are in various phases of the adoption process. Home Studies and Post Placement services are provided for all types of adoption by qualified social workers and/or counselors. Post Adoption counseling for adoption and child-related issues is available to individuals and families. Families have opportunities to participate on a regular basis in various educational and recreational activities planned by staff and adoptive parents, including parent-led groups throughout the state. Support services provided to adoptees are made available by licensed social workers and/or counselors. The specific services provided are based upon the needs of the adoptee. These services included but are not limited to: post placement services, post legal services, searches and referral to any necessary outside service providers.
