Burlington's Gifts-In-Kind Program

     Burlington United Methodist Family Services is committed to changing one life at a time through a diverse array of services to youngsters and families. Our ministry attracts a wide variety of participants and supporters and because of this diversity, BUMFS endeavors to provide a wide variety of support opportunities.

     Our special category of donation is the "gift-in-kind."  These gifts or donations "in-kind" include most non-cash personal property donations such as works of art, real estate, prized collections of coins, stamps or other 'collectibles' and antiques. This category also includes automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, RVs or boats (on a trailer).

     Beginning January 1, 2005, tax law changes are in effect that impact the manner and degree of deductiblility of donated vehicles. Click here for further details and also consult with your tax professional for advice about how the changes will impact your situation.

Note: Although many gifts in-kind can and are used in our programming, other gifts-in-kind will be converted to cash that will be used in direct support of the ministries to the youngsters and families in our care.
